At Rougarou Shuckers, we’re your go-to crew for crawfish boils, oyster bars, and all things Gulf. We’re a small, family-run outfit – no corporate takeover here. Every sack of mudbugs, every Gulf oyster is hand-selected and served by us, not a faceless crew. We chase flavor, not volume, tailoring each boil to your crowd. Think New Orleans tradition mixed with a wild card personality – “the table covered in crawfish, the smoke curling off the grill, the sound of oysters hitting the fire” – that’s the Rougarou difference. We’re the Real Deal: Forget cookie-cutter catering. At Rougarou Shuckers, every event is run by seasoned shuckers and boilers who live and breathe Louisiana seafood. We don’t send out a generic staff – it’s our family (and yours soon!) on-site, boiling, shucking, and grilling with that secret sauce of Southern hospitality.
We source only the best ingredients from the Gulf – Louisiana crawfish from trusted purveyors, fresh Gulf oysters off the coast (we can get them from all over the world, too!), and live char-grilled oysters straight from the flame.

This isn’t a factory line; it’s a small-batch, hyper-local feast that respects tradition.

What We Serve – Crawfish, Oysters & More

  • Crawfish Boils: Louisiana crawfish (Jan–July, peaking Mar–May) seasoned with our family bayou blend. We pack in corn, potatoes, and andouille sausage so your guests can dig right into a classic Cajun feast.

  • Raw Oyster Bar: Shucked-to-order Gulf oysters on ice, served with house mignonette, lemon, and hot sauces.

  • Char-Grilled Oysters: Gulf oysters roasted over open flame with garlic-herb butter – a New Orleans specialty. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried one of these straight off the grill. (And yes, we’ll show your guests how it’s done.)

  • Shrimp & Crab Boils: Because sometimes you (secretly) wanna mix it up. We boil Gulf shrimp until they blush and steam live blue crabs with our signature kick. On special request, we’ll even do an East Coast Old Bay-style boil – just don’t tell the bayou we said this!

Not Just Mudbugs: Sure, crawfish are our crown jewels, but we’re all about that Gulf bounty. We’ll customize your boil – extra shrimp, extra sausage, or even a full New England clambake for the adventurous (it happened once, shh!). Bottom line: from crawfish to crab legs, we bring the true Gulf Flavor that gets everyone lined up at the table.

  • Sides & Fixins: Every boil comes loaded with corn, red potatoes, and andouille. Add-on options: Anything you can think of :). We won’t reveal our seasoning blend but you can ask for medium, hot, extra hot, and a deathwish.

  • What We DON’T Do: We focus on seafood and vibes – no cupcakes, no tents, no bartending. No desserts or rentals; that’s someone else’s gig. (We can recommend a great bakery or party rental if you need.) We bring the rig, the boil, and the party..

From backyard birthdays to corporate launches, our mobile boil rig brings the bayou to you. Weddings? Check. Office parties? Check. Tailgates, reunions, festivals – if it involves celebrating, we’re in. We serve parties from a dozen chowhounds up to roughly 50–75 guests (and can stretch to 100+ for the really brave). Because we’re small-batch by design, we stay flexible: no two events are the same. Mild spice for the kiddie crowd, extra garlic for your garlic-head buds, gluten-free and keto sides – you name it, we’ll try to make it happen. As our blog says, each event is “designed to match the occasion with true Louisiana flavor” – we don’t do cookie-cutter here.

Booking Rougarou Shuckers is easy. Hit BOOK IT on our site or shoot us a call/text at (504) 666-2527. We’ll chat about your event, menu tweaks, and schedule. Because we stay boutique, you’ll actually talk to us – no middlemen. (Yes, even on a Saturday night at 11pm, Clayton or Shahinoor might pick up and talk crawfish science with you.) We’re fully licensed and insured, and we handle permits if needed. We ask for a deposit to lock your date (crawfish season is short – just like good dates, they fill up fast), then we obsess over the details so you don’t have to.

You take care of the libations; we take care of the pots, recipes, and cleanup. When the party’s over, your biggest chore is licking your fingers. Don’t settle for average when you can book the team setting the standard in New Orleans seafood catering.
