Lobster Roll Near Me? Stop Searching and Go to Henry’s Uptown
You probably typed "best lobster roll near me" into Google because you’re hungry, you’re in Uptown (or close to it), and you don't want a poboy for the third time this week.
You also probably don’t want to put on a collared shirt, make a reservation, or spend $40 on a sandwich just to get your seafood fix.
That’s where Rougarou Shuckers & Crawfish comes in.
We are the answer to the "Where can I get a good lobster roll without the restaurant hassle?" question. We are a pop-up, which means we bring the high-end food to where you actually want to be—your favorite neighborhood bars.
1/4 POUNDERS
The Great Debate: Why We Serve It Warm
If you’ve been searching for lobster rolls in New Orleans, you’ve likely found a lot of "Maine Style" rolls. That usually means cold meat tossed in mayonnaise with celery.
That’s fine for a picnic, but we do it differently.
At Rougarou, we serve Connecticut Style rolls.
The Temperature: Warm. We poach the meat right in front of you.
The Fat: Butter, not mayo. We use warm, salted butter that soaks into the meat and the bun.
The Bun: Split-top and toasted on the griddle until it has that perfect crunch.
When you eat it warm, you can actually taste the lobster. Cold mayo hides the flavor; warm butter highlights it.
The $24 Solution
Most lobster rolls in New Orleans come with a "Fine Dining Tax." You pay for the white tablecloth, the waiter, and the overhead.
We strip all that away. We serve a quarter-pound roll straight from the burner on the sidewalk.
The Weight: 1/4 lb of cold-water lobster.
The Price: $23. (Yes, that is significantly less than the other spots Uptown).
The Filler: None. No lettuce, no tomato, no distractions.
Where to Find Us (The "Near Me" Part)
We move around, but we have a habit of setting up shop near the best beer in the city. If you are anywhere near Magazine Street or the Lower Garden District, you are in range. Check our Calendar!
Saturdays: Henry’s Uptown (Magazine St.) This is our Saturday home base. Henry’s is an institution—a real neighborhood bar where the game is always on, and the beer is always cold.
The Vibe: We park right outside on the sidewalk. You grab a drink inside, come out to order your roll, and eat it standing up or at the bar.
Want the "Pop-Up" at Your House?
You don't have to come to a bar to get the Rougarou experience. We bring this exact outdoor setup to private driveways and backyards all over New Orleans.
If you are hosting a Corporate Lunch, a Rehearsal Dinner, or just a Backyard Party, we can set up a private Lobster Roll Station for you. It’s cheaper than traditional catering and way more fun to watch.
How to Track the Rougarou
Because we are a pop-up, our location changes slightly. Before you drive over, check the official calendar to Make sure the burners are lit.
